In the Black Panther films, Basotho blankets function as both armor and adornment. Basotho blankets date back to King Moshoeshoe I (c. 1786-1870), founder of the Basotho Kingdom of Lesotho. This particular example features a “Khosana” design created to celebrate the 1963 birth of Crown Prince Lerotholi Mohato Bereng Seeiso.
