Inge Hardison’s sculptures honored important Black activists and leaders.

Ruth Inge Hardison (1914-2016) was known for her series of bronze sculptures, "Negro Giants in History." The series included famous African Americans like Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, and Sojourner Truth. In this short film, "Hands of Inge," Hardison is shown working on a sculpture of her daughter and a bust of Martin Luther King Jr.
