Najé’s viral song inspired thousands to lay down their burdens.
After a double shift at work, Najé Elmore posted an improvised song on her TikTok which has since turned into a social media sensation. In a gospel-style, Elmore sings “I’m about to go lay down,” and without adding additional lyrics and only changing the cadence of her voice, Elmore creates a song. In an interview Elmore explains “Go Lay Down” whether that be sleep, or… burdens that you have… whatever it is, if you got issues,– you know, [Go Lay Down] it serves its purpose…I wake up, And I just sing. And that’s like, my time.” “Go lay down” became a mantra for those reclaiming their time.
