Digital Twist to Date with a Dish

After suspending its print edition in 2019, Ebony relaunched as a digital-only publication in 2021. The relaunch revived the famous “Date with a Dish” column, but with a twist. Ebony's new “Date with a Dish” digital feature was transformed into a traveling series in which scholars, artists, community leaders and experts discussed topics relevant to the Black community over a chef-prepared meal. In each episode, chefs explained the dish’s connection to the African Diaspora.
